How to Download at ExnemSims

There are two different methods of downloading here at ExnemSims.
These quick guides will explain the differences to you.


For those of you who have donated to the site-
Upon donating you should have received a seperate user name and password other than your forum log in account.

You will need to log into the forum using the site information.

Go to the thread you'd like to download from in the Subscriber Downloads area.

Some posts may be minimized. The forum does this to compress space. You just need to click the link that says "Click here to read the full item"

You will now see the full listing for the download. To the right you will see in red, the file links.

When you click on one of the red download links- a prompt will come up asking you for your User name and Password. This is where you TYPE IN (Do not copy and paste, it wont work) The user name and password you received after donating. This is not the same as your forum log in.

Once that is accepted you will receive the final prompt to save your file. Save it to your desktop or a folder for your sims content and install when ready.

To Download from the Free Community Downloads-

Simply click the file icon on the right hand side of the screen. Save this file to your desktop or a folder and install when ready.

*****It is a good rule of thumb to have winrar as well as winzip for downloading sims files. Most sites use one or the other of these formats. You can find WinRar for free at www.rarlab.com

after this do you have to restart the computer or is simply putting it on your desktop making it able to be used in the game?

Nope you dont have to restart the pc at all.

You only have to extract the file from the zip or rar and place it in your Downloads folder, boot the game and play :)

I signed up for a 1 month subscription and when I type my password and username that was given to me it stil says forbidden. Today is the 3rd day and it still wont let me download in the subscription area, I even tried using my other cpu and have the same problem? Whats the deal?? y is this happening?

4 days ago I subcribed for an one month membership. Uptil now I´m not able to download something because I have no Username and Password. After the first day I wrote an email to memberships@exnemsims.com and I got told I have to use the passwords paypal gave to me after subscribing. But I didn´t got any Passwords from Paypal (exept the ones I always login in paypal), maybe because I subscribed without using a creditcard?

The last 3 days I spend hours checking e-mails and waiting for help and support. I wrote 3 Emails during that days, but nobody answered me up to now.

I love this site and I´m always willing to spend a little money for good sims-stuff but I don´t think that it can´t be so difficult to create a subscriber download account manuell.

i signed up for 1 month subscription...i downloaded some male clothings...i downloaded a winrar coz u said it's necessary...but the problem is i can't find any items i download when i booted to play..i followed every steps..from saving to extracting from winrar going to download files....but can't seem to install...please help i'm so anxious about trying ur cool stuffs here...

Have you made sure that custom content is enabled in your game?
if you are having problems with clothing showing, try placing your clothing files in
my documents/ea games/sims 2/saved sims folder
and let me know if it shows up then

i put the downloads in my documents/ea games/sims 2/savedsims...when i look for it in the game there's none of the stuffs i download...by the way what what is this custom content ur saying about..

Custom content just refers to all the things you download to put into your game, anything not made by Maxis. When you start your game, after it loads but before you come to the screen from which you choose your neighborhood, there will be a screen with a list of all your custom content, and a choice for you to either enable or disable it. If "disable custom content" is checked, none of it will show up. You want to make sure you check "enable custom content". You have to either enable or disable all of it; you can't pick which things you want enabled or not.

Also, if you have just installed the game or one of its expansions, custom content might not show up the first time after you put it in the game. In this case, you just need to quit the game and start it back up, and the content should be there. If, that is, you have enabled it :)

Some people have mentioned that you need to dump all clothing, makeup, sims and accessories into the Saved Sims folder without putting anything into subfolders, otherwise your game won't read them. I have heard that this problem goes away with a particular expansion, but I don't know which one. It won't hurt to have everything loose in your Saved Sims folder, but it won't be as easy to keep organized. Objects - couches, counters, pictures, etc. - should always go into your Downloads folder, and it is okay to put them into subfolders if you want.

If, when you unzip a file that you download, you have something called a Sims2pack, you just need to double click on it and it will be installed into the game automatically. Done this way, objects go loose into the Downloads folder. Lots and houses go into the Lot Catalog folder.

I hope that helps. Please forgive me if I told you something you already know.

The objects in our subscriber area are gifts to donators only. If you donate you get access to those.

The community downloads dont require any donation or other log in and password.
