Backup?

I may be getting a new computer for Christams and I would like to keep my saved games and downloads. I plan on burning these to CD and I assume that I need to burn both the folder in the C-drive and My Documents? Anyway, here comes the part I'm really stuck on. I have uni installed and am seriously considering not reinstalling on my new computer. My most recent pack is seasons so I was wondering if my files will still work without the earlier installed uni? Thanks!

I believe your files should work- however- You should go to the lots that contain families you want to keep and make sure that you do not have any sims sent to university, and that any sims in careers that came with uni quit their jobs. You may want to replace as well any objects in the homes that came from university too.
This way when you replace them into your new game you wont have files corrupted because they needed something from that expansion.

Thanks. I think university is boring but I may just reinstall anyway and keep the content. Another thing is that I would like to install Family Fun, which it wouldn't let me do before due to a patch being needed for Pets or something like that. Does anyone know if that would be ok if I installed Seasons afterward?

I am almost certain that if you have bought an expansion after Pets, that it will update or patch pets too.

You can install EP's and stuff packs in any order.

Remember this tho (its the only reason i keep university) that you wont have yourmusical instruments if you don't install Uni again. I thinkthat was the only useful bit from that EP so I have kept it installed just for those items.
