View Full Version : UV Mapping My Objects

Ok I gave UV mapping for the objects I create a try. And given that I already knew how to give the individual polygons textures, I figured that it would only be too easy to just throw everything together. So I found a tutorial that was supposed to be easy and did nothing but make my headache worse, lol. Basically, here's what happened...

This is what the model I made in 3DS looked like in the quick render view. Individual polygons were selected to get the overall effect. So I followed this tutorial found below

http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=155650

And my UVs for the model came out looking like so. (Keep in mind that I did not use an actual JPEG file for the UVs, this is just a screenshot)

So I continued on, and to my surprise, the model did something strange in game. It turned on its side like the picture below, and instead of showing the custom UV texture, it showed the actual UVs over every single polygon. Therefore, the model did not have the clean texture seen below, but instead, looked like an enormous collage of shapes thrown on to a white model.

If anyone can help me with this, a major thanks is really sent out. Im really determined to try and get something done thats more than a lot. :)
