Ok...I have a rant I'd like to vent. I was walking through the living room when a show my husband was watching caught my ears. It's a show called Million Dollar Yachts, which I didn't know at first. Anyway, on this show, a lady was walking around and giving a narrated tour of her boat. What first caught my attention was the fact she was talking about the main salon where all their guests could hang out. She went to great pains to mention the rare granite that the bar top was made out of. And she mentioned several times how it had its own entrance to the sun deck.

Next she was showing off their main quarters. you know the one done in blues, cause blue was her husbands favorite color. And of course they have their own private salon with mirrored doors, so tehy can be shut away from their guests. And oh yeah, they were a floor higher than everyone else so they had this spectacular view. And there was also a small gaming salon which could accomodate up to 8 people.

My husband pointed out the fact that our whole house could fit into their main salon. I just kinda got irked. I guess I'm just not a big fan of ostenation and pretension. I mean they have this huge, tastefully and professionally decorated yacht, which they seldom use. Bah. Must be nice to have that kinda money to spend on something they only use a few times a year.

Ok, rant over...feel better. :love1:

I'm really glad you posted this, It's one of the things that pisses me off most with humanity in general.
And its not because I'm not rich, it's because I have a brain, and a heart.
Have any of you ever seen My Super Sweet 16? This show perfectly sums up how scummy people can really be in my opinion.
Children have these luxurious birthday parties, rent out night clubs, fly around the wrold to find their birthday dresses, hire famous bands and get brand new cars.....and the end price tags on this **** is usually in excess of 500,000$
That kind of money for a 16th birthday party that means absolutely jack **** 5 years down the road. But it could put roofs over how many hundreds of homeless families, or starving children? No they HAVE TO HAVE that dress from Paris, thats custom made for 10K. Who cares if some single mother cant put diapers on her kids ass. Some old man needs medicine he cant afford, but its ok shes got her BMW.
I just can't possibly understand how those with money can just not give a **** about other people. I have always said to myself that if I ever was in that position, I would make sure my family had what it needed and then I would give back to those who don't have a chance in life to pull themselves from a hole they are in.
So why are spoiled, selfish, ignorant kids and their parents looked upon like its something great? Is this what the media wants to teach people? If you have money, wipe youre ass with it, make origami swans with it, use it to light your cigarettes but whatever you do don't do anything kind for others.
it just makes me sick

I am on a pension, so I dont have alot of money, but when I do have some spare money I often feel guilty about buying something I dont need. I dont know how these people can live with themselves. I've done a number of door knocks for charities and its the people with little money who seem to donate more than the people with fancy houses.
