NEW PRIZE ARCADE - "Pacman"

Hi everyone... Today we bring you our first "Prize Arcade", which I hope you enjoy as much or more than it took to make it.

To use simply buy it from the buy catalog and place it somewhere, sims will automatically use it and win prizes which will appear in their inventory.

The object is fully animated with flashing lights, sounds and effects, all the works... I tested it thoroughly under various situations and was able to fix 2 potential bugs, I haven't found any more bugs, but if you do please post it here so we can try and fix whatever arises (hopefully it works 100%).

This arcade will charge $7 to every sim who uses it and transfer that money to the owner of the lot, but it will only transfer the money to the owner if it's a community lot, not on residential lots, so it's better to avoid using these on residential lots unless you like spending money :P (if you know how to use simpe, setting constant 0x03 to 0 will stop charging you money per use).

IMPORTANT:

You need to download all the prizes this object uses at the links below, the machine won't work if you don't have them installed.

Also, the previous Arcades (found here: http://exnemsims.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1067) had their attraction and advertizing set too high. I have included in this post a pack with less attractive ones so you can use them instead, which work much better with this one. Note that said pack only contains the arcade objects and NOT the videos, you need to download the original arcades and then overwrite with these.

VERY IMPORTANT:

I cannot stress this enough... PLEASE! Read the included readme and follow the instructions on how to install. Included in the file are videos and configuration files that need to be extracted to special locations for this object to work, so please follow the instructions.

Hi, I've installed every file in the right place, installed the 3ivx Codecs and everything, but... when my sim starts playing the arcade, the game reduces to icon (it does not crash, though). The only way I found to keep on playing was: return to the game, rapidly click on 'pause', delete the arcade object with the "moveobjects on" cheat. Can I do anything? Thank you.

This is often a problem of your avi files being assigned to open with a player other than windows media player.

To fix this problem you should try the following:

Right click any avi file
Click on properties
Look for "Open with" and click on change
Select "Windows Media Player" from the list

If the problem persists try unassiging avi files from any other video player you may have (from that player's options).

Thank you! Just a quick question before I install it--do I *have* to use all of the prizes? If I omit some of them will it affect the way the arcade works? I only ask because some of them don't appeal to me at all...

I programed it so you will get the default object if you dont have any others which is eeyore, so you will need to get at least that one.

Ohhh! I am in LOVE. *.* Exnem, this is so, so, so cool! Prizes! *bounces up and down* It's so realistic! :D I also love the idea of making the arcade games less attractive...is there any chance of making buyable food less attractive too? I like to set the food out, but my sims want to eat it all the time! x.o;

All the foods were edited some time ago to be less attractive, I know there's a post somewhere about that, and I believe LyricLee has a pack with them so you don't have to download them one by one again, so PM her ;)
