Error?

Whenever I try to use a car or call a taxi to return from a community lot, I get the following message:

I have a new pc and backed everything up from my old one, in which the error did not appear, and reinstalled everything. The onlly exeption is that I have replaced the H&M stuff pack with the family fun one. Could that be causing it?

have you tried restarting the game with out any custom content? and have you tried uninstalling that pink colored control panel and just use the blue based one instead?

Do you happen to have any custom careers or anything else that would alter a vehicle?

I think the problem is my hacks because when I removed the folder where I keep them, everything seemed to be working again. It's definately not the HUD because I tried just removing that first. I have two custom careers and will let you know if thats what the problem is. I had exactly the same hacks on my other com though and there were no problems at all. I was using XP and have switched to Vista so I'm guessing that perhaps one or two hacks aren't compatable? I don't see why that would make any difference though. Thanks!

it is possible some hacks *may* not be compatible, I have Vista myself but have had no real problems with it (comes from being a nerd in training with a professional nerd for a partner lol)

Wondering though - I once has a similar thing to this where I was unable to call taxis to lots etc... which i found out was caused by code missing from the game linked with the public phone and mailboxes on a lot where i had used several boolprops and such, it was a long time ago, but i think i got the solution from MTS2....

likely to be one of the hacks not working correctly as you say though too...
