Pet Error

I keep getting a pet error and when I run SimPE (which keeps crashing because its not compatible with FreeTime as of yet), it tells me I have two instances of the same pet. I'm not sure how to go about removing the second instance, which I'm sure is why my game keeps crashing. How can I just delete the pet that's causing the problem??
