I just heard from Paladin's site aka www.simwardrobe.com that The Sims 2 FreeTime is NOT the last expansion pack! On Infinitesims.com they said that The Sims 3 will be out hopefully by december 2009. So I think they might release 2 more expansion packs before TS3 is released!

Quoted from simwardrobe.com:-
"FREETIME IS NOT THE LAST EXPANSION PACK!!!
I have received some independent verification that there will be another expansion pack for the Sims 2 after FreeTime. I do trust the person who gave me this information and I believe it to be real. The confirmation of the next expansion pack came from someone at Electronic Arts who is actually working on the project. I am unable to reveal the name of my source as I promised them that I would not. Because I have no proof to show anyone, I had debated whether or not I should share this with my fans. I know how badly some of you want one more expansion pack, so I felt it would be nice to let the rest of you in on what I have been told."
Lets hope that the last expansion pack will be something great

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
To many of you this is great news but to me it isn't, I haven't got any expansion packs after OFB and now they say there is going to be a new expansion pack?! Really what could it be, I mean our sims can do basically everything from owning a business, go to uni, experiance a party lifestyle, have pets, experiance the weather, go on holidays and now have hobbies + the on-going avalance of stuff packs for just about everything and they are saying that there is a rumour of a new one!
After the whole fuss over Bon Voyage don't you think Maxis is going over board? I would have to pay hundreds of dollars to update my computer just so it could support all the new expansion packs, why must we go through hundreds of dollars and drama just so we can play the game we all love?!

I ask you all, what left is there to make an expansion pack?
Personally I think it might be a re-make of an old Sims 1 pack.

Oh, I totally don't think that a new expansion pack is bad news at all! I can't wait! I'm not ready for the Sims 3. ><;;
Now I can keep my fingers crossed for a magic EP, an "alternate lifestyle" EP (not all of us live in the suburbs! What about rural areas and cities? I want apartments!), or a Superstar remake.

Yayy. <3

I like the idea of apartments! It would be kind of like the dorms in university, have tiny little apartments then work your way up to a penthouse!

A magic expansion pack would kind of take reality away from the sims 2, people like to relate to their sims but if they start becoming wizards and doing magic spells it would be weird. But fun, magical sims would rock!

true, I agree with all of you and I'm also not ready to start playing The Sims 3 (TS3).

Me either, but that's ages away maybe during that time I'll be able to get an upgrade for my computer so I could play it! :D

well true, I might also change my graphics card so that I can play Simcity Societies. its lagging and the quality is too low.

I agree Starish of Terror. I've been waiting for the version of The Sims "Makin' Magic" for The Sims 2 for a while. I'm also hoping that EA will get around to giving Sims 2 characters the ability to at least brush their GD teeth before they are through with the series. Why such a simple thing hasn't happened well before now is mystery me. I guess washing their face would be considered a bonus XD

I have too admit that I too am not laying in wait of The Sims 3. Technically I have what I need to play the game when it's released but each time a program is installed on the hard drive there goes that much more memory. I'll need to buy a second hard drive to accomodate the space it will take.

How is Freetime? Is it worth the money? I have all of the other expansion packs except that one and no stuff packs. I was a little afraid to get Seasons but it runs a lot better than I expected. So how does Freetime run? When I saw ea's previews before it came out it did kind of remind me of OFB for some reason, which I think is a very good expansion pack, thank you.

I have to admit its pretty amazing. Why don't you try it out. The ratings out of 10 that I would give it is 9.5/10
