Now this is a HUGE thing that really REALLY tick me off! a real gear grinder of epic proportions its that good you can just tell its winding me up already!! :cwm21:

Those would be the people who seem to claim they know what normal is and how I am not "Normal" (or anyone else subjected to this apparent superior knowledge)

Now, what has marked me out as "Different" is the fact that I happen to absolutely adore Heavy Metal music - says she with Five Finger Death booming in the background - This apparently means I am different. A girl? liking heavy metal? Tsk Tsk... This also means that I must be a lesbian - which I am not, but apparently these "Normal" people seem very certain of this fact.

This leads me onto the next point - I wear Black - a lot, so with my natural long black hair this means that I am also a "Goth" okay, fair enough, but for a 33 year old this also seems to fit me into the bracket of their so called discriptive of a Goth which is of a 15 year old acutely depressive who hates everyone and worships satan - errr.. okay. swiftly on to the next point

These Normals seem very surprised by the fact i have children - and children that are surprisingly brainy and dont wish to burn down their local school - wow! and the real gem a get an awful lot... "You dont look like a mum!" oooh please enlighten me as to what a "Mum" looks like? forgive my total ignorance at the latest Laura Ashley floral dress and twinset collection, silly me!

And the final thing (for this rant anyway) Tattoos - oh how could I? its just not normal for a woman is it? oh how could I? well... it kind of went like this, I drew this really cool tiger/dragon combo, took it too my tattooist friend, I sat in the chair, several times, the exchange of monies took place and I ended up with a fab picture covering my ack - THATS HOW!!

So these "Normals" what are they? what is normal music? their normal isnt my normal, and my friends normal... their quite frightening disco hotpants and babyfeeders falling out of their skimpy tops isnt what id say is normal...

What is normal is whatever makes you feel damn good! having a blast whilst you are doing at and not giving a hoot about what other people think.

**Mistress find new sense of peace and relaxation after said rant and goes off to learn German so she can understand what Rammstein are singing about**

Haha this is the best rant ever!!!! And something I could not agree more with you about.

I'd love to know who sets the standards that are supposed to be normal. Whoever it is sure does hate me too.

I have short hair so yep I'm a lesbian too (wanna date baby???)
I pretty much hate doing most of the things "normal" people my age do. I can't stand clubs, drinking, I dont drive at all.

I've always been of the impression that humanity, ***uality, everything in life doesn't come in black and white but uncountable shades of grey. Seems IM the only one, well and you as well.

And by the way I dont know about those Laura AShley dresses either so I guess I must be a bad mom lol.

I think that you are living to be you and thats the best friggin thing anyone can do. Be true to yourself and screw what anyone thinks. Its those people who constantly have to compare other people to themselves and look down on other people - theyre the ones who are lacking something so deeply that they need to criticize others to feel "normal"

Hugs!

I wanna join the club of not being "normal". I'm a 35 year old woman who adores cartoons, blowing bubbles and coloring. I also change my hair color quite frequently, but not to any normal colors. I am also overweight and accepting of that fact.

Quite frankly, I believe the people who decide what is and is not normal are so repressed and afraid to be themselves that they set guidlines for everyone to follow that will make others as miserable as they are.

I am happy not to be considered normal, and its great fun to do something "abnormal" in a group of "normal" people. Laughing at "normal" people when they try to put you down or make you conform is fun to do too.

If normal people worried more about themselves and their actions, and less about others actions this world would be a much happier place. :love1:

Yep... We all fit pretty well here, thanks for that rant. I feel comforted somehow knowing I'm not the lone abnormal :D

There is no such thing as normal, no one could possibly be normal in this crazy world, there arn't even any standards that defy normal.

Everyone has something odd or weird or different about them but that's what makes us who we are. I'm just like you Mistress, I wear a lot of black but my hair is blonde and my parents forbid me from colouring it black, only because of the re-growth. So everyone considers me an emo wannabee, even though thats who I am but there is only so much I can do to express my 'normal' self.

People may see me as different or weird but to me I'm normal, but I would change a lot of things about me so I would be accepted by the 'normals' (you know what I mean, its always hard to fit in in this judgemental world). Everyone has different opinions about what is normal, but it doesn't matter what others think.

If you consider yourself normal, weird or strange its your desision, and that's what makes us normal. :)

Normal huh, Hmmm, now by who's standard are we going to use as the staus quo for normal, I'll use my own. I guess that makes me normal and everyone else abnormal. That might work, it's a quick fix for it. Everything has a quick fix and it's all good, depending on which side you're on. Normal is just a term used for measuring up to someone eles's standard, I don't measure up to many at all. That's ok with me, I've always gone against the grain of society and what is expected of me by others, and I probaly always will. This in it'self could classify me as abnormal, or atleast a radical fanatic. Which by some standards I very much am, get me started on something I've got a strong opinion on and you'd see it's true. I am an artist, which by definatition means my mind is always thinking outside the box.
That really sums it up for the most part... Stay inside the box.... if you want to be normal. And yes stare mindlessly drouling for hours on end into that 'blue light mindmelting box'. You will learn how to act, what to like and how to behave also.
